Kangana Ranaut’s Film ‘Emergency’ To Not Release on Sept 6; Bombay High Court Denies Request for Immediate Censor Board Certification

Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’ is one of the most awaited releases for obvious reasons. The movie, based on the emergency imposed by the Indira Gandhi government in 1975, faced a major setback as it won’t be released on its scheduled date, September 6. The film's producers had approached the Bombay High Court to expedite the release and obtain a censor certificate. However, according to the latest reports, their request for immediate certification has been denied, and the matter will be heard next on September 18. The biographical drama has sparked controversy after Sikh organisations, including the Shiromani Akali Dal, accused the film of misrepresenting the community and distorting historical facts.
