Chief Justice Of Odisha High Court, Justice S Muralidhar spoke about what virtual court hearings miss out on. He said, “Whether the judges communicate or the lawyers communicate, a lot of things pass in between a lawyer and a judge which is unsaid which could be by a look, body language.” He added, “This essential part of a courtroom hearing cannot be replicated in a digital hearing.” Recently, the Odisha High Court commenced live streaming of court proceedings of the Court of Chief Justice on a trial basis. While addressing a gathering which comprised of Judges of the High Court, District Judges, the Advocate General among others, Justice S Muralidhar emphasised the intended benefits of getting in technology into the day to day work of the judicial system.
