Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren Resigns, Paves Way for JMM Executive President Hemant Soren
On July 3, Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren submitted his resignation to Governor CP Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan in Ranchi. Champai Soren resigned in order to pave way for Jharkhand Mukti Morcha executive president Hemant Soren to again take over the position. Hemant Soren has staked the claim to form the government. Hemant Soren was released from the Birsa Munda Jail on June 28. Hemant Soren was released after nearly five months following bail from Jharkhand High Court in a money laundering case linked to an alleged land scam.
