Japan Plane Tragedy: Five Dead, Captain Of Coast Guard Aircraft Seriously Injured In Plane Crash At Tokyo Airport

On January 2, five people died when a Japan coast guard aircraft collided with a Japan Airlines passenger plane on the ground. The tragedy took place at Tokyo's Haneda airport. The captain of the Japan Coast Guard plane survived but was seriously injured. Videos showed people sliding down out of the aircraft and running on the runway. All 367 passengers and 12 crew onboard were promptly evacuated, reported AFP. The aircraft, reportedly an Airbus 350, had arrived from New Chitose Airport serving Sapporo on the northern island of Hokkaido, reported AFP. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida expressed grief.
