Japan: Fumio Kishida Wins Race To Lead Liberal Democratic Party, To Succeed Yoshihide Suga As Prime Minister

Fumio Kishida wins the race to lead Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). With this, he is set to become the next prime minister. Kishida will succeed Yoshihide Suga. Suga decided to step down after just one year in office. Fumio Kishida’s first aim as prime minister will be to lead the LDP to victory in an upcoming general election. Kishida, a former foreign minister, beat Taro Kono. 64-year-old Kishida has long targeted the prime ministerial role. He lost to Suga in last year's poll. Watch the video to know more.
