Jammu & Kashmir - First Ever Girls Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament Held In Budgam

The first-ever Girls' Cricket Tournament (tennis ball) is being organised in Budgam, comprising seven teams from Budgam, Baramulla, Ganderbal and Bandipora districts. The tournament has been organised by Youth Services and Support with assistance from Budgam district administration. "This game has become quite popular in South Asia, so we thought children from our area should also get the opportunity. These girls do not lack talent, so we have taken up this initiative. Girls are very enthusiastic to perform here," the organiser of the tournament, Shuja Hussain told ANI. "I felt very nice after coming here because girls from many districts are participating in the tournament. This is for the first time that such an event is taking place in the Budgam district. We are being provided with food and very nice refreshment. They are giving us an opportunity to move ahead," a player said.
