Jallikattu Festival Begins In Madurai, Tamil Nadu Despite Covid-19 Surge

The Jallikattu festival began in Tamil Nadu. The traditional bull taming sport began in the southern state as part of the Pongal festivalJallikattu competition was held in Avaniapuram, Madurai district amid the rising cases of Covid-19 in the country. As per a Times of India report, nearly 300 bulls were let out into the arena of the bull tamers. As per the new guidelines, only 150 viewers are allowed and occupancy is capped at 50 per cent at the venues.
