The tiger is the largest of the world’s big cats with its distinctive orange and black stripes and beautifully marked face but its species is under constant threat from poachers and a shrinking habitat. At the St. Petersburg Tiger Summit in 2010, various countries including India, decided to address the drop in tiger population and combat risks to the wild cat.
