India’s COVID-19 Tally Now At 13,835 Cases & 452 Dead; While U.S. Registers Highest Daily Death Toll

The highly contagious COVID-19 infection has claimed 452 lives in India as of April 17. The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases rose to 13,835 which includes 11,616 active cases and 1,766 recoveries. In the past 24 hours, 260 coronavirus patients were declared cured from COVID-19 – the biggest number of daily recovery so far in India. Meanwhile, Wuhan in China revised its official death toll upwards of 1,290 cases and officials admitted that they “may have missed some deaths.” On the other hand, the United States suffered its highest daily death toll of 4,491 dead in 24 hours. This number came a day after U.S. President Donald Trump said his country had turned a corner in the right direction in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
