Indian Students In The U.S. Want To Return, Request Central Government's Help To Get Back Home
Some Indian students from Gujarat who are in the U.S. have appealed for help and asked to be evacuated by the Indian government. With schools and colleges shut across the U.S. in wake of spread of COVID-19 in the country, most students are left to fend for themselves. The students speaking through a video message said there are a total of 11 students from different states of India and are hoping for help. The Indian government has been flying only repatriation flights by sending foreign nationals to their home countries but had said earlier that it did not have the resources to bring in Indians from different parts of the world anymore, especially with the increase in coronavirus cases worldwide. International and domestic flight services in India were closed on March 22 to contain the spread of the Novel Coronavirus.
