While 1.3 billion people in India are locked up in their houses, animals, it seems have reclaimed their space. A number of videos of animals strolling on the road have surfaced on social media. With people staying at home, cities, highways, roads across the nation have been deserted since PM Narendra Modi announced the 21-day lockdown. A video from Chandigarh showed a Sambar Deer crossing an empty road. They were also spotted near Haridwar in residential areas. In Kerala’s Kozhikode, a critically endangered Malabar large-spotted civet was spotted. The endangered Olive Ridley Turtles were seen on a beach in Odisha. Also, a video of an elephant strolling on the empty streets of Kerala is being widely shared on social media.
