India China LAC Standoff: Steps Taken Towards Disengagement; What Is The New Agreement In Eastern Ladakh?

India and China have reached an agreement on disengagement at Pangong Tso in Ladakh, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on February 11 in parliament. He gave details of a breakthrough after a protracted stand-off & several rounds of talks between military commanders & diplomats. China’s Defence Ministry also announced that Chinese & Indian troops on the southern & northern shores of Pangong Tso began “synchronized & organised disengagement” in line with the consensus reached between Corps Commanders when they last met on January 24. According to the statement made by Rajnath Singh & Chinese Defence Ministry, troops from both sides have started disengaging from the Pangong Tso area in eastern Ladakh.
