India Administers 100-Crore Vaccine Doses, 30% Population Now Fully Vaccinated Against Covid-19

On October 21 morning, India reached the one billion Covid-19 vaccinations milestone. The government said three-quarters of adults in the country of 1.3 billion people have received the first shot. Nearly 30 per cent of the population is fully vaccinated, the government said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the country for the achievement and said, “India scripts history.” Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also congratulated the country. Covid-19 cases in India have sharply declined after a huge spike was witnessed by the country in April and May when 400,000 infections and 4,000 deaths were reported every single day. Recently, less than 15,000 daily cases have been reported.
