Himachal Pradesh: NDRF Rescues 51 People Stranded At Cloudburst Incident Sites In Mandi

On August 24, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rescued 51 people who were stranded at cloudburst incident sites at Shehnu Gouni and Kholanala villages in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. The hill state has reported massive destruction and deaths due to heavy rains, landslides and cloudbursts. Several houses collapsed in a massive landslide which struck Kullu district. Officials said 2,237 houses have been fully damaged and 9,924 houses have been partially damaged, reported ANI. 300 shops and 4783 cow sheds have been damaged as well, reported ANI. The Kullu-Mandi Highway Was Also Damaged Due To Heavy Rainfall.
