Highlights Of G20 Summit In Rome: PM Modi Attends Session On Climate Change, Meets Joe Biden, Emmanuel Macron, Angela Merkel & Other Leaders
The G20 leaders met in person for the first time in two years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other G20 leaders agreed that the WHO would be strengthened to speed up the process for emergency use authorisation for Covid-19 vaccines. India's G20 Sherpa Piyush Goyal said the leaders adopted the Rome Declaration at the G20 Summit. They had a full-fledged plan which included climate change, Covid-19 pandemic, tax deal and global economy problems. PM Modi tweeted, “I took part in the various sessions, participated in bilateral meetings and also met several leaders on the sidelines of the summit deliberations.” PM Modi highlighted aspects relating to India’s contributions in the global fight against Covid-19. PM Modi met Chancellor Angela Merkel & there were extensive deliberations on India-Germany relations. PM Modi met US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, French President Emmanuel Macron & Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The leaders also tossed a coin into the Trevi Fountain. PM Modi on October 31 departed for Glasgow to participate in the crucial 26th session of the Conference of Parties (COP-26) and hold other meetings. Watch the video to know more.
