Heatwave Alert Issued For Many States: India Set To Sizzle As Mercury Rises To 48 Degrees Celsius
The Indian Meteorology Department has issued a “Red Alert” for eight states across North and Central India as summer reaches its peak in the country. The IMD has issued a bulletin warning of "Heatwave conditions over some parts, with severe heatwave over isolated pockets.” The IMD issues colour-coded warnings depending on the intensity of any weather system in ascending order - green, yellow, orange and red.
