Hathras Stampede: 121 Killed During Satsang in Uttar Pradesh; PM Narendra Modi Expresses Grief

On July 2, at least 121 people died in the stampede at a religious congregation in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. The deceased include several women and children, officials told IANS. The 'satsang' of Lord Shiva was being held in Ratibhanpur where a huge crowd had gathered to listen to religious preacher Vishwa Hari Bhole Baba. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a compensation of INR 2 lakh each to the kin of the deceased and INR 50,000 each to those injured in the incident. CM’s office has sought a detailed report about the organisers of the 'satsang', stating that strict action will be taken against those found guilty, reported IANS.
