Born in the Kabaddi hub (Nizampur) of India, Kumar lived up to the tradition and became one the most sought Kabaddi players in the country. He was the vice-captain of the team that won the 2007 Kabaddi World Cup and also the player to have attracted the highest price at the inaugural PKL auctions.
