1,75,025 pilgrims from India will perform Haj this year. The number was finalised on January 7 after India signed the Bilateral Haj Agreement 2024 with Saudi Arabia (KSA) at Jeddah. The Bilateral Haj Agreement 2024 was signed between Union Minister for Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs Smriti Irani accompanied by V Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs with Dr Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Minister of Haj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia (KSA), reported ANI. During her visit to Saudi Arabia, Irani visited the Haj Terminal of King Abdulaziz International Airport to oversee the arrangements for Haj pilgrims. Irani also explored historic places in Jeddah.
