Ganga Saptami 2019: Significance of This Auspicious Day

Ganga Saptami 2019:  Ganga Saptami also known as Ganga Jayanti or Ganga Pujan marks the re-birth of Goddess Ganga on the earth. This auspicious day is celebrated to honour Goddess Ganga who graced earth in the form of a river. On this day, Devotees take a dip in the holy Ganges and perform special pujas at pilgrimage sites like Triveni Sangam in Pragyaraj and Rishikiseh. This ceremony of ‘deepdaan’ is considered auspicious. Many devotees also recite ‘Ganga Sahasranam Strotram’ and ‘Gayatri Mantra’ on this day.
