Eid, also known as Eid Ul Fitr or Eid al-Fitr, is celebrated with great zeal by Muslims around the world. After month-long fasting, Muslims across the globe celebrate Eid Ul Fitr on the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal. Eid marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. As the moon was sighted on April 9 in Kerala, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Eid was celebrated on April 10, 2024. Rest of the country will celebrate Eid on April 11. In Saudi Arabia and other middle eastern countries, Eid was celebrated on April 10. On this day, Muslims gather in large numbers and offer the Eid namaz. Several delicacies including biryani, pulao, kababs etc are prepared on this day. Delicious desserts like seviyan, sheer korma, shahi tukda & phirni are prepared on this special day.
