Easter Sunday is the celebration of Jesus Christ's resurrection on the third day after he was crucified. But the days leading upto Easter is celebrated as Holy Week, with each day representing an episode from Jesus' final days on earth. It also marks the end of a 40-day period of penance known as Lent.
