A massive earthquake of 7.8 magnitude in Turkey and Syria killed more than 15,000 people, reported AFP. The tragedy took place on February 6. Over 40,000 people have been left injured. On February 8, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan conceded shortcomings. Erdogan’s government has been criticised for the response to the powerful earthquake which has levelled thousands of buildings.
