Disha Ravi Gets Bail In Toolkit Case: ‘Scanty, Sketchy Evidence’; Five Notable Observations Of The Court

Twenty-two-year-old activist Disha Ravi was granted bail by a Sessions Court in Delhi on February 23. She was arrested in connection with a toolkit on the farmer protests that was tweeted by Swedish activist Greta Thunberg. In the bail order, Additional Sessions Judge Dharmender Rana noted that the accused had “absolutely no criminal antecedents”. Ravi was granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh & two sureties of like amount. The court order comes as a blow to the Delhi Police. It had alleged that the activist was the “key conspirator” in the formulation & dissemination of the document & that she collaborated with pro-Khalistani group Poetic Justice Foundation (PJF) to “spread disaffection against Indian state”. Ravi, who earlier this month told the court she had only edited two lines of the document & not created it, has said she only "wanted to support the farmers" in their campaign.
