Delhi's Aquila Restaurant Issues Statement, Releases CCTV Footage Over Saree-Clad Guest Row

A video, in which a woman claimed that she was denied entry to a restaurant located in Delhi as she was dressed in a saree, went viral on social media. Journalist Anita Choudhary, shared the video of her experience at the Aquila restaurant on social media. The incident took place on September 19. On September 20, the woman posted a video on social media where a woman staff of the hotel can be heard saying, "We only allow smart casuals and saree does not come under smart casuals.” In the caption, she wrote, “Please define smart outfit so I will stop wearing saree.” The official handle of the Delhi restaurant has also issued a statement. They posted videos of several saree-clad women arriving in the hotel and said that the video which has gone viral is misleading as it only shows 10 seconds of what unfolded in an hour. The restaurant authorities also posted CCTV footage of the woman 'slapping' the manager. Watch the video to know more.
