Delhi Rains: School Holiday Declared by Education Minister Atishi As Heavy Rainfall Lashes National Capital

On July 31, Delhi Education Minister Atishi announced that all schools in the national capital will remain closed on August 1. All government and private schools will remain closed. Heavy rains lashed Delhi, leading to waterlogging in many areas. Heavy rains and waterlogging led to traffic congestion at most places. Several airlines like IndiGo, Air India, Vistara, and SpiceJet, have issued advisories about flights getting diverted. Airlines also requested passengers to leave for airports early and keep checking the status of their flights. Delhi Lt Governor VK Saxena has directed all the concerned officials to remain alert.
