Rains battered many North Indian states including Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir & Punjab on July 9. Heavy rainfall caused landslides, water-logging, washed away roads, vehicles, homes and shops. Incessant rains led to water-logging and traffic congestion in Delhi. Many people took to social media to share videos of the water-logged roads and wrote, “City of lakes”. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal declared holiday for schools in the national capital on July 10.
