Delhi: Over 400 People Fall Ill After Eating Buckwheat Flour During Navratri Fast In Kalyanpuri

Over 400 people have fallen sick after eating adulterated buckwheat flour in Delhi, police said. All of them were hospitalised late on April 13 following complaints of stomachache, diarrhea & vomiting, the police said. Buckwheat flour, popularly known as kuttu ka atta in India, is commonly consumed during the fasts observed for the festival of Navratri. All the patients, who have been admitted to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, are from east Delhi's Kalyanpuri area. They are suspected to have consumed the flour during dinner. An FIR has been registered at Kalyanpuri Police Station against the proprietor of the general store. Bunty, the owner of Bunty General Store shop from where the flour was bought has been arrested, the police said, reported ANI.
