Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, AAP’s Atishi Contract Coronavirus As State’s Cases Cross 47000
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain tested positive for coronavirus on June 17. The minister's first test had come negative on June 16. He took a second test after his fever worsened. Reportedly, doctors had decided to go for a second test after observing Coronavirus like symptoms in Satyendar. 55-year-old Jain was admitted to Delhi's Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty hospital on June 16 night with high fever and complaints of breathing trouble. AAP MLA Atishi has also tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The 39-year-old, who represents the Kalkaji constituency in south Delhi, complained of a mild fever and cough on June 16. Atishi was then screened for the COVID-19 virus, the report of which came positive. She is now in home quarantine given her mild symptoms. The number of cases in the national capital has reached 47,102 with 1,904 deaths. The number of cases in India has reached 3,66,946 with 12,237 deaths.
