Delhi: Elephant Lakshmi Rescued After Missing For Over Two Months, Mahout Arrested

Delhi’s last elephant, Lakshmi, missing for over two months, finally traced near East Delhi’s Akshardham temple. The rescue operation that lasted for more than 16 hours ended on Wednesday afternoon when the elephant was brought to the ITO nursery. Several locals came to sneak a peek at the Shakarpur police station, where the elephant was kept. The mahout has been arrested while the caretaker and his son are still at large.
