Delhi Airport Chaos: Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia Says ‘Unprecedented Fog Compelled Shutdown’; ‘Unruly Behaviour Unacceptable’ After IndiGo Flier Hits Pilot

On January 15, Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said unruly behaviour by passengers will not be tolerated. He added that every such incident will be dealt with strongly in line with the existing legal provisions. Scindia took to X and wrote a long post explaining why flights have been delayed from Delhi. He said, “Delhi witnessed unprecedented fog wherein visibility fluctuated for several hours, and at times, dropped to zero between 5 AM to 9 AM.” Scindia said, "It is my earnest request to all travellers to bear with during this difficult period.” A shocking incident took place on an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Goa when a male passenger identified as Sahil Kataria physically assaulted a pilot inside the aircraft.
