Cyclone Asani Storm Tracker: Tropical Storm Intensifies Into Severe Cyclonic Storm Says IMD
On May 8 evening, Cyclone Asani further intensified into a severe cyclonic storm. Cyclone Asani has moved north-westwards in the direction of north Andhra Pradesh-Odisha coasts, the weather department said. India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the severe cyclone on reaching west central & adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh-Odisha coasts on May 10, is likely to recurve north-north eastwards & move towards northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast, reported PTI. As reported by NDTV, Mrutunjay Mohaptra, IMD Director-General said it will not make landfall either in Odisha or Andhra Pradesh. IMD has asked fishermen not to venture into the sea and along and off West Bengal and Odisha coasts from May 10 till further intimation. Watch the video to know more.
