In the absence of a nationwide lockdown & with Covid-19 cases rising steadily, a number of states in India have imposed complete lockdowns to reduce the spread of the virus amid a deadly second wave. Even the states that have not opted for statewide lockdowns have induced lockdown-like strict curbs on the movement of people. India continues to reel under an unrelenting Covid-19 wave, with 3,754 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours. The country’s total infections are now at over 2.26 crore.
