Coronavirus: Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak Temple Closed, Pune Temple Makes Sanitisation Mandatory For Entry
The famous Siddhivinayak temple of Mumbai closed its doors amid the coronavirus outbreak. Decision taken in view of the situation created by the highly contagious virus. Aadesh Bendekar, Chairman, Siddhivinayak Temple said, “Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has said one must avoid crowded places and discourage the formation of crowds. The decision has been taken to shut the temple till further intimation.” Recently, the temples at Maharashtra's Shirdi and Kerala's Sabarimala had asked devotees to postpone their visit for a few weeks. Meanwhile, a temple in Pune also took precautionary measures amid the rising tension among people. Sanitising hands was made compulsory for devotees entering the Dagadusheth Halwai temple. So far, Maharashtra has registered 39 cases, the highest in the country. Overall, 116 confirmed cases have been detected in India.
