Coronavirus In Maharashtra: 8068 Cases With 342 Deaths; Uddhav Thackeray Says 80% Cases Asymptomatic

The number of coronavirus cases in India has reached 27,892 with 872 dead. Maharashtra continues to have the highest number with 8,068 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 342 deaths. Mumbai, the financial capital of the country, is the largest contributor in the state. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on April 26 said that 80% of the patients of COVID-19 were asymptomatic in his state. Thackeray also asked people to have patience, saying without lockdown, there is "no other choice" at the moment. Referring to the task of lifting the lockdown without allowing a surge of the virus, Uddhav Thackeray said the next three or four months ‘are going to be very important.’
