Civil Aviation Ministry Relaxes Covid-19 Guidelines
The Ministry of Civil Aviation has relaxed Covid-19 related restrictions. The ministry said that cabin crew members need not wear PPE kits now. The ministry also said that airlines need not keep three seats vacant on international flights for medical emergencies. The security personnel at airports can resume pat-down search of passengers now. The ministry’s order dated March 21, stated that the relaxation has been given to facilitate smooth conduct of air operations, reported PTI. The ministry has decided to recommence scheduled international flight operations from March 27, 2022. The ministry said, “The use of face masks and maintenance of hand hygiene/sanitiser continue to be mandatory.” India reported 1,581 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
