On October 30, Luis Inacio Lula da Silva won a new term as Brazilian president. He defeated Jair Bolsonaro to become the 39th president of Brazil. The Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) declared Lula the next president, with 50.9 per cent of votes. Bolsonaro got 49.1 per cent votes. 77-year-old Lula returns for an unprecedented third term.
