On March 23, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about the violence in Birbhum, Bengal. PM Modi expressed his condolences and assured all help to the state government to book the accused. The violence in Bengal claimed eight lives. Meanwhile, on March 23, Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury wrote to President Ram Nath Kovind urging him to invoke Article 355 in West Bengal.
