Bihar Encephalitis Outbreak: Prisoners’ Ward in Muzaffarpur Hospital Converted Into ‘PICU’
Muzaffarpur administration of Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) converted prisoners’ ward into Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) due to the crisis of ICU beds in the hospital.The outbreak of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) in Bihar so far killed more than 100 children. SKMCH’s Manager Sanjay Kumar Shah told ANI, “We have converted prisoners’ ward into PICU and after that, we have installed 19 more beds, monitors and 8 ACs in this ward.”
