TV actor and Comedian Bharti Singh was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on November 21 over allegations of possession & use of marijuana. Her husband, Haarsh Limbachiyaa was also arrested on November 22. The 33-year-old screenwriter, producer and TV personality was taken into custody after being questioned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for 15 hours. They have both been sent to judicial custody till December 4, the special public prosecutor said. Their home in Mumbai was searched on November 21 by the anti-drugs bureau. Officials said a "small quantity of cannabis" (86.5 grams) was found from their home in an apartment complex in Andheri. According to the NCB, during questioning, Bharti Singh & Haarsh Limbachiyaa accepted that they use narcotic substances. The quantity of drugs found at the couple's home was not commercial but could still invite up to 10 years in jail, according to officials. NCB has been probing alleged drug use in Bollywood and the entertainment industry after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June on the basis of WhatsApp chats involving drugs. According to an NCB official, Singh's name emerged during questioning of a drug peddler. Over the last few months top Bollywood stars like Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh & Shraddha Kapoor have all been questioned by the NCB as part of its attempt to unravel the network of drug supply to celebrities.
