Balasore Train Accident: Death Toll Rises To 261, Over 900 Injured In Horrific Tragedy; PM Modi To Visit Site
Over 260 people were killed and around 900 injured in the horrific train tragedy in Balasore, Odisha. Three-train collision involving passenger trains and a goods train is said to be India’s deadliest accident in over 20 years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for Odisha’s Balasore. PM Modi also held a high-level review meeting. Reportedly, he will meet the injured people at hospitals in Cuttack. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also reached the site. Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik visited the hospital to meet the injured. Rescue operation has been completed and the restoration work has been started. The Railway Minister announced compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the families of those who have died & Rs 2 lakh for those seriously injured. Watch the video to know more.
