Auto Driver Fined Rs 37,000 For Traffic Violations, Rs 16,000 Challan Issued To Scooty Rider

Traffic Police on September 04 penalised three auto-rickshaw drivers and charged Rs 9,400, Rs 27,000 and Rs 37,000 for violating traffic rules. They have been penalised under the Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Act, 2019. ACP (crime) Shamsher Singh said, ““The Gurugram traffic police is issuing challans based on the new Motor Vehicles Act 2019. As on September 2, 950 challans were issued.” Meanwhile, after taking as heavy as Rs 23,000 challan from a Gurugram man, Kaithal traffic police slapped a challan of Rs 16,000 to a scooty driver on September 3. The offender had no documents of his scooty and that is why he was penalized with this much amount. His scooty has also been impounded. Higher penalties for traffic violations came into effect from September 01 after the implementation of provisions of the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019.
