Assam-Mizoram Border Violence: 5 Police Personnel Dead, 60 Injured As Clashes Intensify
Five Assam policemen were killed after police forces of the states of Assam and Mizoram clashed at the state border in a disputed area on July 26. Gunshots were fired from both sides and at least 60 people from Assam were injured as per initial reports. The violence among police forces of the two North-eastern states at the state border comes just two days after Union Home Minister Amit Shah was in Meghalaya to talk about various boundary disputes among the seven North-eastern states.
While the police forces of the two states were firing at each other, the chief ministers of Assam and Mizoram were posting videos of the violence and had tagged Amit Shah in the posts.
