Assam Floods: Over Six Lakh People Affected As Pre-Monsoon Rains Inundate 27 Districts

Assam has been hit by severe floods and landslides. Incessant rains have created havoc in 27 districts in the state. More than six lakh people have been affected. As reported by NDTV, nine people have died in the state till now. Several roads, bridges, rail links, and houses have been damaged. As reported by NDTV, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam Chief Minister said the state government has released Rs 150 crore for the affected districts, while the central government has sanctioned Rs 1,000 crore for the state as part of flood relief measures.
