Anthony Blinken Says Taliban Has Committed To Safe Passage Of Americans, Others Looking To Leave Afghanistan

The United States has till now evacuated over 82,000 people from Kabul. In the last 24 hours, 19,000 people were evacuated. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said, “This is one of the largest airlifts in history, a massive military, diplomatic, security, and humanitarian undertaking”. Blinken said the US is operating in a hostile environment in a city and country now controlled by the Taliban. He said there is a real possibility of an ISIS-K attack & the US is taking every precaution, but this is very high-risk. Blinken said the United States is on track to complete its mission by August 31 provided the Taliban continue to cooperate and there are no disruptions to this effort. He said, “There is no deadline on our work to help any remaining American citizens who decide they want to leave to do so, along with the many Afghans who have stood by us over these many years and want to leave.” Watch the video to know more.
