Andhra Pradesh IAS Officer G Srijana Gets Back To Work With Month-Old Baby In Arms Amid Lockdown

The Commissioner of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation, G Srijana, who gave birth to a baby boy recently, returned to work within 22 days of her delivery. She said, "These are extraordinary circumstances that we are living in." The top officer said that it is the call of duty as the country fights the coronavirus pandemic that motivated her to get back to work as soon as possible. The officer said she tries to get home every few hours to breastfeed the baby. Women are entitled to six months of paid maternity leave as per the government rules.
