Amitabh Bachchan Denies Testing Negative For COVID-19, Says, ‘This News Is A Lie’

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has called news reports that he tested negative for COVID-19 "incorrect, irresponsible, fake and an incorrigible lie.” Big B is currently admitted in Mumbai's Nanavati Hospital. The 77-year-old actor shared a tweet responding to a report by a leading news channel. Amitabh Bachchan had announced on July 11 that he had tested positive for the virus and was in the hospital. Big B’s son, actor Abhishek Bachchan, announced soon after that he had tested positive as well and was also admitted in the same hospital. Abhishek's wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & daughter Aaradhya also tested positive and were initially isolated at home. Later, they were also moved to the hospital. Amitabh Bachchan's wife Jaya Bachchan tested negative for the deadly coronavirus. Jalsa, the Bachchan family residence in Mumbai was sealed off by the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation), as were the other three bungalows owned by the family. Coronavirus has hit several households in Bollywood, with members of staff working for Karan Johar, Aamir Khan and Boney Kapoor testing positive. Rekha's bungalow was sealed after her security staff got infected. Many television actors have also tested positive for COVID-19. The number of cases in India has reached 12,38,635 with 29,861 deaths.
