Alexei Navalny Supporters Protest His Arrest Across Russia In Freezing Cold, Throw Snowballs At Police

Nearly 3,500 protesters were arrested at demonstrations in support of jailed Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny, media reports said on January 24, as authorities probed violence on the part of both protesters and police. Protesters hurled snowballs at the police as they demanded Navalny's release. Video of the unique protest was shared on Twitter showing cops being hurled with snowballs. Police clashed with demonstrators in Moscow as tens of thousands took to the streets across the country on January 23 following Navalny's call to demonstrate against President Vladimir Putin's 20-year rule. A number of protesters were injured, including a woman in Saint Petersburg who was hospitalised with a head injury and was in intensive care on January 24. Watch the video to know more.
