Akshay Kumar Starrer Ram Setu Hit By COVID-19 As 45 Crew Members Test Positive

Many Bollywood stars have contracted COVID-19 over the past few days. Akshay Kumar, who informed on April 4 that he has tested positive for COVID-19, has been hospitalised. On April 4, fresh COVID-19 infections crossed a lakh for the first time, the highest daily spike in new cases so far. Mumbai recorded over 11,000 new infections, Maharashtra has been the worst-hit state & the Uddhav Thackeray-led government has announced a weekend lockdown in addition to a night curfew & other restrictions. Some 45 crew members working on Ram Setu have also tested positive for COVID-19, reports news agency PTI. A 100-strong crew was meant to work on the film in Madh Island. 40 junior artistes and five people from Akshay Kumar's team were infected, the mandatory COVID test showed. On April 5, Bhumi Pednekar & Vicky Kaushal, co-stars of new film Mr Lele, also announced that they had tested positive for Covid-19. Alia Bhatt recently tested positive, days after co-star and boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. Ranbir's mother Neetu Kapoor caught the virus last year as did her Jugg Jugg Jeeyo co-star Varun Dhawan. The Bachchans were badly hit by the virus last year - Amitabh Bachchan and son Abhishek were in hospital. Abhishek Bachchan's wife Aishwarya was also briefly hospitalised. Fatima Sana Shaikh also tested positive recently.
