Akhilesh Yadav Accuses Mismanagement Of Voting Machines In UP As Videos Of EVMs On Trucks Go Viral

On March 8, Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party chief, alleged that Electronic Voting machines (EVMs) were being stolen from a counting centre in Varanasi. Counting of votes will take place on March 10. Yadav tweeted, “All candidates and supporters of SP-alliance should be ready with their cameras to thwart the attempt to rig the counting of votes.” Several members of the opposition parties in UP protested near the counting centre in Varanasi from where the EVMs were being transported. Srinivas BV, National President – Indian Youth Congress tweeted a video showing boxes containing ballot papers found in a garbage van in Bareilly.
